I want to tell you about my personal history with AMSOIL.  When I became a dealer in 1979, I was already convinced that synthetic oil was superior to conventional oil. I had been working for Bell Helicopter Company for five years in Iran as a helicopter mechanic. The only oil that would stand up to the extreme heat in those helicopter turbine engines was a synthetic oil. 

My dad began using AMSOIL in 1974.  When I returned from Iran, he and my brother, Mark had formed a corporation, Vaughn Enterprises to market AMSOIL products.  After the Ayatollah Khomeini ended my employment with Bell Helicopter in 1979, I joined the family business and began selling AMSOIL.

Being from Missouri, the Show-Me state I had to convince myself that AMSOIL outperformed the other oils.  I did all kinds of heat and cold tests, rust tests, fuel economy tests, long drain interval tests, and paid a local oil analysis lab to do wear tests.  I read many articles on synthetic oils from independent sources.  I listened to hundreds of AMSOIL testimonials from people who stopped by our AMSOIL trade show exhibits. The more I learned about AMSOIL the easier it was to sell.
